Purewhyte was launched in autumn 2008 by Kirsty Whyte.
Having studied Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University, and subsequently graduating with First Class honours in 2003. She was then invited for a semester as a guest student at Kalmar University, Sweden; studying Glass Design. Both these courses really advanced Kirsty's material and process knowledge and passion for design.
After moving to London she then worked for several years at the well known homeware and furniture retailer Habitat, where she gained valuable experience in many areas of retail and design. Now applying this knowledge for herself with Purewhyte.
Kirsty's core principle when designing is "To create a purely designed product, exploiting its material, which will become a modern classic. Making it a sustainable product a customer will want to keep and will last for years to come."
The varied Purewhyte 2009-2010 Collection, illustrates a breadth of products from furniture, lighting and homeware.
Purewhyte's customers range from individual buyers, to architects to designer-furniture retailers.
