About

Julie Murdoch-George is a Cornish designer-maker and graduated from Falmouth College of Arts in 2005. She describes her work as an eclectic mix of femininity; all pieces are dressed up in various pretty patterns that enhance their forms. All of her work is hand-made using slab earthenware clay that has been multi-fired. Her jugs have a graceful appearance with the emphasis on the handle, patterns range from flowers to spots in various colours. Julie work is always evolving and her most recent additions include a new contemporary range title 'Cornish Blue' and also a new collection titled 'Birds' inspired by the birds found in her garden.  As well as producing a large range of functional ware, Julie also makes beautiful ceramic jewellery; included in her range are brooches, rings, earrings and bracelets.

Julie was fortunate to be awarded the Winner of the CUC (Combined Universities in Cornwall) ‘Creative Graduate Business Award 2008’ and this has helped her to develop a new range of digitally produced textiles which compliment and echo a selection of designs on my large jugs.  Julie is also member of the Cornwall Crafts Association.
